Backstreet Missions Food Sorting

We meet annually at the 215 WestPlex Backstreet office to sort donated food to fill over 600 Thanksgiving baskets. These baskets are given to low income families in our community, to provide them with Thanksgiving dinner.

The Clarian FANN van (Fitness and Nutrition Network) will provide activities, handouts, and Kid Fun Kits for all in attendance. MCPL will bring their van and set up a booth to promote literacy. WonderLab will provide an activity table. The Riley Hospital mobile intensive care unit is scheduled to be onsite. In partnership with Riley Hospital, we will have a water safety area and a bike safety area which has been a hit as it traveled around the state. Officer Friendly and a fire truck will be on site. We are working on handing out a free book to every child in attendance and working with local organizations to have other child related booths there such as Shots For Tots, etc.). Head Start has already expressed an interest in attending as well as other children organizations! Mark your calendars and we will see you there!
