Kiwanis International Appoints Rob Parker Executive Director

INDIANAPOLIS—August 1, 2006—Kiwanis International, an organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time, announced today the appointment of Rob Parker as the organization’s new CEO/Executive Director.

Effective immediately, Parker will further Kiwanis’ growth as a premier service organization by implementing new strategies to communicate the vision and goals of the organization to members and the public. Parker also will be responsible for maintaining a strong financial foundation for the organization and leading the integration of the strategic plan as Kiwanis works towards its goal of 1 million members by 2015.

“We welcome Rob to the Kiwanis International team and are confident he will further ignite the energy that has been growing within this organization,” said Steve Siemens, Kiwanis International President. “He brings a track record of leading organizations through significant membership growth. His new thinking and exceptional experience will be valuable in driving membership and organization goals, as we continue to adapt to the changing needs of our members and the changing needs of the world.”

Parker brings nearly 25 years of nonprofit experience to Kiwanis International. Most recently, he served as president for the Atlanta-based IMPACT Group, which provides executive coaching and organizational development services to both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Parker was also previously a key member of the senior management team for the Boys & Girls Club of America, where he helped raise millions in private-sector support for the organization.

An accomplished speaker and trainer, Parker has extensive experience presenting in the US and abroad. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two grown children, Andrea and AJ, and two grandchildren. Rob enjoys boating, basketball, racquetball, and camping in his spare time.

Throughout his career, Parker has worked directly with some of America’s most dynamic business leaders, CEOs, and nonprofit leaders. These experiences offer tremendous opportunities for Kiwanis, which recently announced its goal of reaching 1 million members by 2015. With a dedicated staff and volunteers, and Parker at the helm, Kiwanis will continue to develop future generations of leaders and to change the world one child and one community at a time.
