Kiwanis health fair a hit

To the editor:

I would like to thank the Kiwanis for hosting the Children’s Health and Safety Fair on Sept. 13. My family had a great time! Thank you for all the freebies and information. The children enjoyed the climbing wall, jumping in the bounce house, pushing buttons in the police car and seeing Dora and Clifford. They received all kinds of goodies from bike helmets to those ever-needed band-aids — thanks, Monroe County Department of Child Services.

My favorites were the “get out alive” trailer, which actually lets the kids experience simulated smoke; getting a visual of exactly how much fat is really in a hot dog/burger; and a free shopping bag from Bloomingfoods along with some very tasty carrots. My family looks forward to attending next year.
